Valentina Ciriotto

Valentina Ciriotto is a PhD candidate in Economics and a Research Fellow at the University of Siena. Her research interests include gender economics, economic history, behavioural and experimental economics, and text analysis.

 

She graduated from the University of Udine with a degree in Business Economics and holds a master’s degree in Development and International Relations (Latin American Studies) from Aalborg University, as well as a master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of Santiago (Chile).

 

Valentina worked in private companies, at the National Statistical Office, and as a professor at Universidad San Sebastián in Santiago, Chile.

 

Current Projects:

  • Do I Want to Ride My Bicycle? Welfare Effects, Habit Formation, and Projection Bias in Cycling (I-RIDE) (PRIN)
  • Gender Differences in Collaborative Networking (lab experiment)
  • Gender Differences (and Similarities) in Text Analysis of Chat Interactions during a Collaborative Task in a Lab Experiment
  • Italy in Wide-Angle: Workforce, Emigration, Population, and GDP at the Provincial Level in Republican Italy (1951-1991)
  •  Nurturing the Career: The Impact of Nursery Schools on Female Labor Participation in Contemporary Italy (1952-1991)
